Participation in the 8th China South Asia Summit “Two Asias” on Negotiating Digital Cooperation Initiative in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China

Mr. Chhay Chingheang, President of the Cambodian Trade and Investment Development Association and General Director of Chhay Chingheang Group Ltd., led his colleagues and was accompanied by representative of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to attend the 8th China South Asia Summit “Two Asia” on Negotiating Digital Cooperation Initiative in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. Held at the Steigenberger Hotel SUNAC Kunming (No. 2999-9, Biji Road, Xishan District) under the arrangement of Mr. Guo Dajin, Deputy Governor of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, China, is for the first South Asia and Southeast Asia Digital Cooperation Initiative Conference and the and the first conference to promote digital cooperation in South and Southeast Asia under the theme “Joining Hands in Digital Cooperation Sharing Digital Dividends” which were invited more than 60 government officers from 10 different countries, representatives from more than 20 local and international industry associations and representatives from more than 300 local and international enterprises.

Signing Ceremony for joint Media Building Project for South and Southeast Asia

The signing of cooperation and joint ventures to build information networks for South and Southeast Asia, the construction of major networks with provinces (cities) along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the signing of international connectivity projects, mainly by local and foreign telecom operators.

The meeting was held to examine the feasibility of digital cooperation in South and Southeast Asia, with three clear work directions as the following:
1. Strengthen cooperation on technology policy
2. Participation in the development of technology infrastructure
3. Need to promote and develop the digital sector.
